I stopped by The Living Desert to pick up a new shirt and visit some old friends at the Kraal. Sadly, many of my animal friends are gone like Norman the big Ankole Steer and Cassandra the 27 year old donkey. This is Owen. He is father to most of the goats in the Kraal. Up until a few weeks ago he was a stinky, intact boy in solitary. After surgery to remove the jingle bells he is now retired and free to roam in general population with his lady loves. Note to new Kraal volunteers: When I asked about Owen it was probably not a good idea to say "His infection is almost gone" in front of guests that were petting him.
